Knowing You Changed Me (Philippians 3:7-9)

Have you ever felt in love? Of course, everyone must have experienced the beauty and pain of falling in love. People who are in love have signs of their behavior.

Even to get the attention and heart of someone he loves. Will do various ways starting from attention, sacrifice, care, and time. In the past he was selfish, had no time, was busy, didn't care. If his heart has been touched with love, he will experience a change in his attitude.

Sometimes humans change in front of their lover only pretending and some have really changed.

But it's different if we fall in love with the Lord Jesus, there is no such thing as pretending to repent. When we know Him and we accept Him, it is the Holy Spirit who transforms and convicts us of sin. It is not only limited to our efforts to repent, but there is an encouragement from the Spirit of God within us. But if we do not know Christ in our lives and our love is not for Christ. Most likely that person is difficult to change.

So how does knowing You change me in Philippians 3:7-9?

Knowing Personally (verses 7-8)

The truth of God's word is the testimony of the Apostle Paul when he got to know Christ personally in his life. He knew Jesus not because of his efforts to know Jesus. Rather, Jesus came to him and turned him into His instrument. You can read about it in Acts 9.

When he knew Jesus was the truth, the way of salvation, and the life. His bad mindset about Jesus instantly turned 100% into a follower of Jesus. As a result, we know with the Apostle Paul being a great evangelist who was able to win many souls because of the Holy Spirit at work.

So he says verses 7-8 "but what used to be gain to me, now I consider loss for Christ's sake. In fact I consider all things loss, because the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord is more glorious than all."

What a wonderful experience the Apostle Paul had with our Lord Jesus Christ. The evil one becomes good and at the same time becomes an Apostle. Because personal recognition is transforming.

Knowing Him Only His Grace (verses 8b-9)

Through God's word we know, Paul could know Jesus only by grace. He knew Jesus not because of his goodness but because Jesus chose him. Where the word of God says "God gives based on trust".

Because Paul realized his life was only a gift, he did not use his life in vain. Instead, he uses his life to be a blessing, that is, to spread the good news without any physical reward.

He served not the wrong motivation, not because of money, not because of wealth, not because of position. Rather he serves because he knows who he is before God.

Likewise with our lives as young people, if we realize this life is a gift from God. So we use this life to be God's instrument.

Good knowledge of God will change a person's personality. If he knows Jesus personally and realizes life is only by grace. And his motivation to serve God so far is not just his personal pleasure but pleasing God's heart.
